This seminar will consider the priorities for improving prevention and public health in England.
It is timed to bring together stakeholders and policymakers to discuss the way forward for system-wide collaboration to improve public health in England.
With the new government beginning its work, this conference will also be an opportunity for stakeholders and policymakers to discuss key priority areas - including the way forward for the Public Health Grant settlement and allocations for the coming years.
Westminster Health Forum conferences typically attract strong interest from government officials places already reserved for representatives from: DCMS; DHSC; DWP; NAO; Office for Life Sciences and the ONS.
Discussion is expected to reflect proposals in the Advancing our health: prevention in the 2020s green paper, looking at the key issues for delivering support that is more tailored to the individual - including lifestyle advice and personal care - and the way forward for improving proactive protection against emerging threats.
Areas for discussion include:
- Funding, addressing root causes of health inequalities including poverty and isolation, and embedding health and wellbeing within wider policy goals;
- Addressing barriers to collaboration for partners in the NHS, local government, the third sector, and industry - and making best use of shared resources; and
- The commissioning arrangements for public health services, and targeting support.
