Genomics Education Programme - Tumour Assessment for Whole Genome Sequencing

Tuesday 31 December 2019

Developed in collaboration with Dr David Gonzalez De Castro (Institute of Cancer Research) and Professor Manuel Salto-Tellez (Queen’s University Belfast), as well as PathXL, one of the world’s leading tumour assessment software tools, this series of four modules is aimed at histopathologists and other lab staff who will be processing tumour samples for whole genome sequencing. The four educational modules will outline the need for a standard model for tumour assessment to be adopted in order to consistently achieve results from whole genome sequencing, taking learners through the method using case studies validated by NEQAS (National External Quality Assessment Scheme). The training will be followed by a formative based assessment.
